The Weavers Atelier is owned and operated by Doug and Linda.
The company started as Sargasso Enterprises in Spruce Grove, Alberta. When we moved to Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island in 2014 we opened a studio for teaching, producing woven goods, and selling fibre art supplies. The word Atelier is of french origin and means “artist studio”.
A variety of household and wearable items are woven on our looms to sell.
Our studio is composed of a variety of looms – a LeClerc Colonial, 3 AVL’s, a Clement, a J-made, a Woolhouse and a table loom whose manufacturer we do not know. The looms vary in the number of shafts from 4 to 24. The latest addition is the Little Weaver, a 24 shaft computerized table loom.
Fibre artists will find a variety of weaving yarns, spinning fibres, and tools for sale in our shop.
Anyone wanting to visit the shop, please email or call and we will be happy to make an appointment for you to view our stock. We would be pleased to have you visit!
