Time: 9:00 am until 4:30.
Place: 5370 Island Hwy West Qualicum Beach
In the 80’s I wove a silk and merino dress and matching cocoon for an Alberta Craft Council show in Edmonton. Needless to say the materials and the time to make the outfit made it quite pricey. I decided to keep it and am very glad I did. Most of my weaving are just memories and I often I did not take the time to take pictures.
I have been asked to give a class on designing and creating the cocoon. Cocoons are comfortable and can fit a wide range of sizes. Different fabrics can make them great for casual wear or classy for a more formal look.
The class will include how to create the pattern for the cocoon and produce samples that are the right weight for the cocoon to drape nicely. Students should have warped a loom before but the weaves are not complex.
To register please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please bring a lunch – there will be a 30 minute lunch break.
Cost for the class will be $ 150
